SECRET US DoD Ellen Towers began working in the distributed simulation industry in 2000. She has been a Sr. Software Engineer with StackFrame since early 2010. Ms. Towers earned a Bachelors in Computer Science from the University of Central Florida in 1999, and received her Masters in Computer Information Science from the University of Pennsylvania in 2000. Fixed a variety of OneSAF trouble reports on CACCTUS Got the talon robot to move using OneSAF version 2.1 to control it. Provided support to the customer on getting their local talon up and running. Created a schedule and budget for the work to be performed. Created a GUI to allow a user to create a scenario. Used XMLBeans to read in/write out scenarios. Enhanced the GUI to have data driven panels so that the data presented to the was easily updated for the current exercise. Create a GUI used to control which entities inside OneSAF are voice-enabled. Created software used to allow external sources to send data into and receive data from OneSAF. Integrate an external high fidelity vehicle model into OneSAF. Created a double envelopment route planning behavior in OneSAF. Created a new vulnerability model that uses Lanchester equations to determine damage inside OneSAF. Redesigned the OneSAF Desktop to be a toolbar. Enhanced the usability and functionality of the behavior composer. Implemented the behavior that searches for cover and conceal positions in open terrain. Worked on updating the ground vehicle mobility model. Updated the route planning behaviors. Wrote a tool to allow the user to create different data sets for different exercises including the abilities to add, delete, and modify information in OneSAF SOMs as well as external FOMs. Designed and implemented a message generator. Redesigned the current documentation for the team. Created a plan to make the code and documentation consistent among all team members. Added additional functionality to the team's current components that handle captured and dead statuses, location of an object with nested hosts, security APIs, and role player alerts. Redesigned the process the team used to allow for new requirements and assignments in mid-increment as well as changed the review processes to enable developers to catch bugs sooner in the development lifecycle. Wrote a developer handbook to ensure all developers know how to use development products correctly and to instruct new developers to the project how to get started.
